To create a mechanism made of two different materials that leverages each of its unique properties to achieve a desired function. My team and I decided to create a mechanism that holds shoes outside of a backpack via attachment to a carabiner. We 3D printed the white components out of ASA due to its stiffness and UV resistance, and printed the part that interfaces with the heels of the shoe out of TPU due to its high coefficient of friction.
