Aluminio Del Sol

Prompt: Design a Mini-Maze inspired by your favorite artist. The final design needs to be machinable from a standard aluminum stock volume of .625” x 1.625” x 0.375, and include:

• Stainless steel bearings to run your maze

• An acrylic lid

• At least two supplied 6-32 UNC threaded fasteners

• Matching threaded holes to accommodate these fasteners

My dad exposed me to a lot of Aztec art growing up, so I decided to create a maze that draws inspirations from the design of the Aztec Calendar. An aztec calendar stone is also known as as “La Piedra del Sol”, or the “stone of the sun”. Since this aztec calendar-like design is made out of aluminum, I called this the Aluminio Del Sol, or “Aluminum block of the sun”
