My name is Josué Gil-Silva

I am passionate about designing high-impact products and solving problems that matter.

I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford and will be graduating in June 2024.

If I’m not playing basketball or tinkering with a new project, then you can find me eating way too much popcorn at the movies or making music with my brother.

Born and raised in Salinas, California, I graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Product Realization from Stanford University.

Besides pursuing my passion for engineering, I also am a scholar-athlete on the Stanford Men’s Basketball Team.

About Me

I am a Mechanical Engineering student from Salinas, California. Growing up in the Salinas Valley opened my eyes to the inequities in our society and the opportunity to make a difference through innovation. I witnessed various issues in everyday life, and joining the Robotics club showed me how much I love getting my hands dirty and coming up with crazy ideas. I grew up playing basketball, so the idea of working on a team towards a greater purpose felt like my calling.

Through my time at Stanford, I have further found my passion for designing for social good and using technologies to improve the lives of others. My work ethic and leadership abilities I’ve gained from being a scholar-athlete and advocate in my community have influenced my desire to delve into opportunities at the intersection of engineering and entrepreneurship. With my problem solving abilities and growing technical experience, I am eager to make meaningful contributions to a company and ultimately make a positive impact on the world.

In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, working out, customizing sneakers, writing music, and advocating for social justice.
